Muktinath – Jomsom (lunch)- Ghasa
We had an adventurous and beautiful start to our morning with one of Shankar’s famous short cuts. We walked through an apple grove and were able to see local farms. Our day continued with frequent stops to talk with local weavers and buy handmade shaws. Late morning brought us to the Kali Gandaki River and beautiful scenery around the river.
We hiked to Jomsom, which is the capital of the Mustang province. It was a larger town that all the other villages that we stopped in on the trail and was REALLY windy. There was an army base as well as a airport. The airport is only open a few hours a day due to the wind.
We then hopped on a bus for a 3 hour bus ride to Ghasa. What fun we had listening to the music, dancing in our seats and gawking at the low water crossings and ditches that the bus was able to drive through.
We arrived at the most beautiful guesthouse as there were hundreds of marigolds in the yard.
