Most Moldovan homes have a fence that surrounds the house. When you visit a friend or family member, you knock on the gate and call to the person. If you don’t hear from the person, you enter into the yard and call again. You need to make sure to know the family dog as he or she could be located near the gate and will most certainly bark insistently to let the homeowner know that someone is in the yard. Meanwhile, your friend will usually come out of some spot, wiping his or her hands on a towel or a piece of clothing as Moldovans are constantly working in the garden, cooking in the summer kitchen or fixing something outside.
Moldovans appear to love bright colors and many of the fences are brilliant blues and greens, with yellows, reds, purples and browns showing up every so often.
