The Bounty of Fall- Corn Harvesting

One morning in September, I followed the motorblock on my bike to one my host family’s fields a morning to help pick corn. Villagers have very large gardens and their animals at home and then their larger plots of land surround the village. My host family grows corn, squash and some sort of grain/grass on their 3 plots, mostly to feed the cows and chickens during the winter. Earlier in the month, my host father brought home stacks of grasses for the cows to eat in the winter. The grasses are stacked in the backyard in tall stacks.  The corn is ground and mixed with squash to feed the cows.
